Rockpoint Apparel is a custom apparel and promotional product company who was ready to build a brand new online marketplace.
Rockpoint has been a veteran in the industry for over 16 years, and has built strong partnerships with businesses and organizations all over the southern U.S. They were ready to expand their business across the country by building a new online marketplace of customizable apparel and products. Not only do they sell apparel from suppliers, but they also have their own custom apparel line. Everything is customized, embroidered, and screenprinted in-house at their Houston, TX headquarters.
On top of standard e-commerce functionality, Rockpoint wanted a feature to allow new and existing customers to place orders using a quick and easy process—ideal for someone on the go with limited time to be able to drill down through Rockpoint’s vast product catalog, or for established customers that have repeat needs. Air Requests are a way for customers to quickly submit a request for a quote. On mobile, the Air Request button is the first thing on the page. The user fills out a form with their contact info, type of item, quantity, and any additional requests, then Rockpoint compiles several options that meet their specifications and communicates with the customer over text.
Overall, this was a fun project and a great learning experience to see how products get made and distributed on a larger scale. It was especially interesting to see the warehouse and watch how the fabrics actually get embroidered, and to observe how passionate Rockpoint is about creating products that help businesses large and small.
