A 2nd Cup

A 2nd Cup is a thriving coffee shop with a noble purpose—to raise awareness about and fight against human trafficking and actively engage in the effort to end the horrid practice.

Previously, the organization had a minimal web presence but they understood the need to have a website that not only showcases who they are, but aids them as a business tool. A pair of volunteers had slowly built up a solid foundation, but A 2nd Cup sought a developer to help carry out the remainder of the website development by implementing new features. I took a look at the existing website and content and created a new website structure that better aided the goals of the website. A 2nd Cup gave me a lot of freedom with the creative direction and layout of the site while sticking to their brand standards, so I designed an engaging, dynamic website utilizing reusable components.

Not only does the website showcase their mission and physical storefront, but it also has an online shop that integrates directly with the in-store Point of Sale system. The e-commerce component was built with WooCommerce and features Square integration, custom product templates, subscription products, and a smooth checkout process.

In 2022, A 2nd Cup asked me to refresh the website to reflect a more mature, clean, and natural design system that de-emphasized the previous bold aesthetic. The refresh explored a complete redesign of the homepage and storefront while implementing updated font weights and global colors across the remainder of the pages to help tie the new system together without a complete overhaul.
