In January 2025, I visited A-C Electric Company in Central California for a jam-packed, 3-day photo and video shoot as part of a larger website redesign project. Visual storytelling was an essential part of the project, so the photography focused on A-C Electric’s people—the core of their culture—alongside the scale of the commercial work they perform. Everyone I talked to was outspoken about their happiness working for A-C Electric, and it was evident in the craftsmanship of their work. I could visibly see the pride in the work, and after learning about the process of large-scale commercial electrical installation, I couldn't help but admire the clean lines and precise, complex layouts myself!
The job sites we visited took me across central California, from Bakersfield to Visalia and ending in Fresno. I got to see a range of projects, including a solar farm installation at an agricultural field, historic streetlight restoration, two schools in the midpoint phase of construction, a solar panel installation on top of the carports at a car dealership, and more. But my favorite part was visiting two hospitals under construction—it was very cool to see the complex layers of infrastructure that hide behind the clean, well-lit walls of a hospital!
